Between the Lines
FLYING FUEL
There is always a first time for everything. Who knows our Pacific big brothers may fly in the needed fuel during an absolute crisis, as suggested by an official.
HOSPITALS
Plans to improve the public health system includes the construction of two new hospitals. Great. All we have to do now is fill the shortage of nurses and doctors in the hospitals currently in operation and then select ones for the new ones from the large pool of qualified professionals the nation possesses.
PRICES
Price gouging is one of the things that would start happening as dodgy retailers will try to make a profit even from the old stock. Will the authority tasked to look at such offences be prepared beforehand and take a proactive step, or as usual be reactive?
SHORTFALL
According to the budget document, each district has been allocated $1.8 million as district grants. There is a shortfall of $200,000 if the government keeps referring to it as the $2 million district grant.
FRIENDLY
The national football team will take on our nieghbours, American Samoa this Saturday in a one-off international friendly. Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a family outing.
