Between the Lines

COMPROMISED

There was a heated conversation between an elected leader and the head of an independent body as the authority looks to take away that independence. Watch out for repercussions from international bodies if this happens.

FUEL

It was quite an ambitious fuel plan announced. While even the bigger nations are looking at reserves that would last 30 days, Samoa is looking to have a reserve that should last a year. Hopefully, the war will not be prolonged.

COSTS

Expect costs to go up. The cost of freight has increased, just ask those bringing things in. The consumers will bear the cost. That is the one rule that has not changed.

TICKETED

Even the seniors are doing it. No, it is not a social media trend. An elderly gentleman driving through town while on a video call learnt the hard way that it is not legal. He was pulled over and given a ticket.

WAITING

The allocations for the renovations for the house of justice and the special schools have been announced, but none have received any money yet. Schools are also waiting for the distribution of the grants.

TREASON

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines treason as the offence of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family.
