Between the Lines
DENIED
All notions of money being paid to lure in people to cross the floor has been denied. In a nation where everyone is a politician, it is hard to tell. Time will reveal all.
ONE ONLY
The upcoming by-election may feature only one candidate from the red party. Unlike the other constituencies, this one could go down to the wire. While a former red man says he is undecided, the grapevine whispers that he is not contesting.
EXPLOITED
Do security personnel working up to 36 hours straight violate the employment laws? One thing for sure is that this practice impacts people’s health and for security purposes, people employed in this sector need to be alert.
HARD WORK
Kudos to the hard working essential service workers. Some of them were rostered throughout the day with instructions to be at the airport as well when the dignitary arrived.
IN A JAM
Those who decided against or were unfortunate not to have reached the township before 8 am on Monday found themselves in a big traffic jam. The main Beach Road was closed for the important ceremony until 11 am.
SPEEDING
Speed thrills but it also kills. The driver and passenger of a vehicle in an accident in Puipaa were lucky to escape unscathed. Apparently, the vehicle was travelling at some speed causing it to overturn.
