The principal of a school involved in a series of fights this year has stepped down from his role. The school is looking for a new one. This job will surely be challenging.

LUMP SUM

Many districts are looking forward to the lump sum that would be given under the district grant scheme. While the amount is due, it surely does not look good so close to the elections.

GRANTS

Many district councils have used the district grants for the CHOGM preparations. Hopefully, it was used for projects such as street lights and improving road conditions instead of buying flags.

TAX FORUM

The tax office visit to Hong Kong should have been an eye-opening experience on how bigger nations manage taxes. Let us hope the deputy prime minister-led team makes some changes at home.

FREE TRIP

The COP29 visit to Azerbaijan could come at no cost to the government. The hosts have offered to pay all costs for Small Island Developing States.

SAD

In a sad incident, a seasonal worker was killed in a hit-and-run last week. He had just arrived home a day before and was hit by a car while he was walking. We need proper footpaths.
