Road construction companies were busy last week as potholes along the main roads were patched up. The ones on the inside roads remain and are getting bigger.
CRUISE SHIP
The Arcadia berthed in Apia on Saturday, bringing hundreds of tourists and good news for many businesses. That was the reason why there were so many tourists around town.
ROUNDED UP
Good work by the police as they rounded up the drunks from a busy shop in town. It has become a norm for many to buy alcohol and drink outside the shop. Some become a nuisance begging for a tala to buy the next round.
KINDERGARTEN
One way to improve literacy and numeracy is by making early childhood education compulsory. Start them young. This also means the need to set up more kindergartens and train more teachers.
REBATE
Many people do not know that the government is offering a 40 per cent rebate on the purchase of an electric or hybrid car. This has not been advertised much as well.
CHILD’S PLAY
Two 10-year-olds engaged in a fistfight outside a busy supermarket on Friday was passed off as a usual occurrence. The fight went on for almost 10 minutes without any adult intervening.
