Women’s Minister mocks candidate for losing to fa’afafine

The Minister of Women, Community and Social Development (MWCSD), Moefaauouo Julius Tafunai, has mocked a Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) candidate, Tologataua Sioeli Lamese, who ran for the Gagaifomauga No. 2 seat in the 2025 elections, saying that losing to a fa’afafine would show that service to the district "was not enough."
