Confusion in Faleata No.3 over school support
Residents of Faleata No.3 were left frustrated on Monday after being told to return home when they arrived to collect the $150 back to school assistance.
A notice was posted on Sunday informing the public that the payment would be distributed on Monday and that $150 would be given to everyone. However, when people showed up, they were told the payout had been postponed until next Monday, with no explanation provided.
The Samoa Observer went to speak with the Fonofa’avae of Faleata No.3 to confirm why the notice was issued on Sunday and why residents were turned away without receiving the funds.
The Fonofa’avae said they could not make any comment or release any information unless the Prime Minister Laʻaulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt approves.
No further details were provided, and residents say they are still waiting for clarification about the delay and the future distribution of the $150 assistance.
