REASONS

Could investment in certain prohibited industries by companies from the Orient be a reason why the authorities want to revoke the independence of an independent body? Things are getting heated up as the advice on certain matters is not going down well with the powers that be.

EQUAL

Road laws and common courtesy apply to everyone equally, even if the vehicle has a number plate saying it is being driven by a cabinet minister. On Friday, while vehicles waited in orderly fashion awaiting instructions on occupying parking spaces from a supermarket security guard, a white Ford Everest with a ministerial number plate crossed onto the oncoming lane, bypassing the waiting vehicles to take the empty spot.

SCARED

Some boys in blue said they were present when the assault on a scribe took place in Siusega, but are afraid to give their statements because they might lose their jobs. It has been more than four months since that complaint was launched.

NO CASH

People were turned away when they showed up to collect their $150. They were told that they had run out of cash. It was not explained if a trip to the bank was needed or if they needed a top-up from the government.

UNI STUDENTS

The fight at a top college involved students from the neighbouring university. According to new reports, the university students were intoxicated, and one had assaulted a girl from the school, leading to the fight. The zero tolerance on violence has seen three students from the college expelled, including the girl who was the victim of the assault and the two boys who came to her aid.
