Between the Lines

TWO WEEKS

Two weeks remain before the start of CHOGM. The chair of the national taskforce and key members are overseas collecting funds for the next general election.

AWAY

It was just a week ago, a senior politician made the call for government ministers to stay in the country as CHOGM nears. Guess what, he is away from the country too.

SKILLED DRIVERS

There are very skilled drivers in Samoa. Some can text on their phones and drive at the same time. In some places, this is viewed as a recipe for disaster.

CONCERNING

According to statistics gathered by a body dealing with reproductive health, 80 per cent of women who come for ante-natal checks have some form of sexually transmitted infection.

DANGEROUS

Police presence around a busy bingo area in Lepea could be a good idea. Some people are parking their vehicles in the middle of the road.

TIME

The Oceania 7s Championship will be held on the first weekend of November. There is still no announcement on the new coach and it looks like time is running out to get a good team.
