Between the Lines

TENSIONS

Reports have emerged of more congregations breaking off from a big church and forming smaller ones. The tension is due to the misuse of funds by the offspring of the church’s leader. Rumour is that many more will break away.

GO HARD

While the police are going hard on all drug offenders, including naming and shaming them, authorities responsible should also be going hard on people selling cigarettes and alcohol to minors. No wonder young teenagers can be seen drunk and rowdy in some places.

APOLOGY

Will the nation get to hear an apology from the minister who has been making derogatory comments regarding members of the community? The parliament is on; this might be his chance.

DRAG

A road in Vaitele has been turned into a drag strip. This has nothing to do with men dressing women but with people speeding in their cars. Ironically, the cars seen speeding were mostly American muscle cars.

CHILD VENDORS

One would have thought that the number of child vendors would have been reduced with the $150 school support. That has not happened. Meanwhile, the bottle shops are recording profits.

SHELTER
