Between the Lines

LOGIC

Certain things defy logic. For example, an elected official sitting inside the air-conditioned coolness of his tinted vehicle, and having a member of his staff hold an umbrella outside the vehicle.

LESSON

It was a lesson for people transporting sheets of corrugated iron on the back of a three-ton truck. Some sheets flew off the tray and landed on the vehicle behind it. Always tie down material that can be carried off by the wind. No injuries were reported.

NEIGHBOURS

Things are tense in a building that houses a government department and an independent body. While staff have to work in the same building, recent developments have led to almost zero interactions. One should always be nice to their neighbours.

NOT FUNNY

Someone’s idea of a practical joke was not funny. A signboard belonging to a coffee place in Malifa was placed on the busy highway.

RECALLED

Toyota in Australia has recalled more than 13,000 new Hilux vehicles that have presented safety issues regarding their power steering. No such issues have been raised locally.

SCAM

As the Pacific Engagement Visa from Australia has opened up, warnings have been issued about scams. There are already scammers targeting people who want to reside in the Land Down Under. Be careful.
