Between the Lines
AIR TIME
Passengers on an inbound flight from Fiji on Tuesday afternoon were given an hour of extra time in the air as the weather conditions made it hard to land, according to the in-flight announcement. It is not every day people get to see Upolu and Savaii 10 times from the air.
HOT POTATO
A file that has an assault complaint against an elected family leader’s family member is being passed around the police office like a hot potato. No one wants to touch it. Since the enforcement agents cannot uphold their oath, might as well change it.
AIR FARES
Air travel is about to get expensive. There has been a global hike in airfares. This also means the inter-island ferry charges could go up when the affected fuel price hits the local market.
$150
Many people were happy to receive their $150. Then there were some who are still contemplating whether to pick theirs because the journey and expense totals more than the amount being given.
MEDICINE
A woman spent more than $150 to buy three different types of medication at a local pharmacy, as most were available at the hospital. When she enquired why the medication was so expensive, she was told it was cheaper than their competitor's.
BIRDIE
Saturday, 7 March, there was a small gathering for Niko from BC Eletricals birthday golf day, and finally, James Onesemo got a foot putt for birdie on the par 5 third hole, although his story is a six-foot putt. Congratulations to him and happy birthday to Niko.
