Possible water disruptions, due to heavy rain
Heavy rain across Samoa could disrupt the water supply, the Samoa Water Authority(SWA) said in a statement on Tuesday, 19 May.
The authority said that due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the rivers, catchment areas have been affected.
People are advised to harvest rainwater where possible and to boil all drinking water to ensure it is safe for drinking.
SWA also urged the public to use water wisely and store enough of it for household needs in case the supply is cut.
Their teams are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates to the public.
