Power was restored to customers on the Lefaga feeder after an unexpected outage on Tuesday. The power outage happened around 9 am on Tuesday.
The Electric Power Corporation confirmed an hour later that repair work on the feeder had been completed, restoring electricity to affected households and businesses.
However, a section of Saleimoa remains without power as crews continue work on a faulty transformer. The corporation said teams are on site and working to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
Residents in Lefaga welcomed the restoration but said the outage had disrupted their day.
“I’m thankful the power is back. The heat made it very uncomfortable,” said Lafaele Muliaga.
“We appreciate the quick response, but we are thinking of our families in Saleimoa still without power,” said Sina Tavita.
“The outage affected my small shop, so I’m relieved things are back to normal,” said Tuiasau Fepuleai.
Meanwhile, Saleimoa residents continue to wait as repair efforts continue into the evening.
“We’re still in the dark here and hoping it comes back soon,” said Ana Fagaloa of Saleimoa.
