Students relieved as sewerage system fixed
Students at the National University of Samoa say they are relieved after the campus sewerage system was fixed, ending an unpleasant smell that had previously affected parts of the university and disrupted movement around campus.
"The smell is now gone, and we now feel comfortable. Before, my friends and I couldn't even pass the area to go to our lecture," said Sulu Talosaga.
Annfereni Sene said it was a clear difference to daily campus life, with cleaner air and a more comfortable environment for studying and socialising.
"It’s a huge relief. The smell used to be really bad, but now it’s finally gone. My friends said they can now sit outside and study without being disturbed and that the campus feels much more pleasant”.
Tavita Ta’ase said, “We are so happy that the issue has finally been addressed after affecting classes and activities for some time. The repair is an important improvement for the university, restoring normal conditions on campus. Honestly, it was affecting classes before, so this is a big improvement. It feels like NUS is back to normal again.”
While some said the problem should have been fixed earlier, campus life has returned to normal.
