America Samoa governor returns to Samoa for official visit
On Monday morning, Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa met with the Governor of American Samoa, Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula and his delegation in the Cabinet Chamber.
Samoa and American Samoa’s relations and future cooperation were discussed.
A high-level meeting was hosted by Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula in Taumeasina with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau.
The session’s emphasis was on the strategic interests of American Samoa and its important role as a US representative in the Pacific.
The Governor was accompanied by Folasaitu Sorepa Fata Thomas, CEO of ASTCA, and Salanoa Salanoa, who served as the Special Envoy.
Also in attendance were members of the Deputy Secretary’s delegation, including former U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Tony Gruebel and the current Chargé d’Affaires, Daniel Tarapacki.
The purpose of the Governor’s visit is high-level engagement with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
The Governor of American Samoa, Pulaali‘i Nikolao Pula, last visited Samoa in June last year to take part in the country’s 63rd Independence Day celebrations and other official events.
