Nauma is 2025's first baby
At 1.30 am, weighing 3.28 kilograms, Peti Soli gave birth to the first baby of 2025 at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Motootua.
According to Daniel, his wife was set to give birth on either January 19 or 23; however, his boy decided to surprise them.
“We were surprised with our boyʻs entrance today, and our son to be the first baby for this year. We were told during checkups that the date was between 19 and 23. But here he is,” said Daniel.
“I'm just emotionally happy right now. He is here. We have been waiting for this day and I am glad they are both safe and healthy.”
Peti said he is named after his grandfather. The couple are from Laulii and Saleaumua.
“His name is Nauma, named after my dadʻs old man. I am just happy that God was there for us, and he was able to bring this new life and our bundle of joy safely to this world,” she said.
The couple said the support from the midwives, nurses and doctors was more than satisfactory as they made the birth process easy.
They thanked the hospital staff for the help they provided.
The couple now have one more reason to celebrate a big New Year’s Day from now onwards.
