The Congregational Christian Church Samoa’s Theological College, Malua, has announced that 25 candidates have successfully passed this year’s entrance exam.

This announcement was made on Monday afternoon by the Principal of Malua Theological College (M.T.C.), Reverend Professor Vaitusi Nofoaiga.

Among the successful candidates, 14 hail from various districts in Upolu, three from Savai'i, five from New Zealand, and three from Australia.

The entrance exam, held in August, is a vital requirement for members of the Congregational Christian Church Samoa (C.C.C.S.) aspiring to dedicate their lives to serving as church ministers.

The candidates now face one final hurdle before they can officially enroll at Malua Theological College for the upcoming academic year.

In January, they will undergo a rigorous interview process, known as ta'utinoga, conducted by the High Council of the C.C.C.S., which includes the Board of Malua and the Elders Committee. This interview will assess the candidates' character and readiness for ministry.

In addition to the interview, candidates must provide a medical certificate, ensuring they are in good health as they prepare for their four-year theological journey at Malua.

The list of successful candidates includes Afele Fereti, Aleni Uelese, Avei Avei, Christopher Lealiifano, Fitu Fuimaono, Gasolo Salima, Iosefa Fili Tiliga, Jake Ropati, Joshua Milford, Junior Amituanai, Kevin Asotasi, Kupa Avaia, Kuresa Faaeteete, Latai Iakopo Nanai, Lawrence Sio, Luagia Pua Semu, Lui Seumaalataua, Mark Leuluaialii, Marshall Maua, Sadat Peteru, Shalom Timu, Tagataoletuiatua Vaipua, Talalelei Solomona, Taylor Salesulu, and Ulimasao Fata.

Malua Theological College, founded on September 24, 1844, by Reverend George Turner and Reverend Charles Hardie of the London Missionary Society, proudly celebrates its 180th anniversary this year. The college's vision, encapsulated in the phrase "For Jesus and His Church," reflects its foundational purpose and commitment to nurturing future church leaders.
