26 promoted within Ministry of Police
A special ceremony held at the Samoa Police Academy gym in Tafaigata honoured 26 officers from the Samoa Police, Prisons, and Correction Services for their exemplary dedication and hard work as they were promoted to higher ranks.
Commissioner of Police, Auapaau Logoitino Filipo, delivered a keynote address that emphasised the significance of the occasion for the promotion recipients, marking a pivotal advancement in their professional careers as law enforcement officers.
“Your promotions reflect your unwavering commitment to serving and protecting our community,” he stated.
Auapaau noted that while their achievements were commendable, the journey ahead remains filled with challenges. He urged the officers to view their roles not just as jobs, but as a calling characterised by a deep commitment to uphold the law and serve the people of Samoa.
“Each day will bring new challenges,” he acknowledged, “but the rewards—such as the satisfaction of helping those in need and ensuring community safety—will fuel your resolve.”
The Commissioner congratulated each officer on making significant strides in their careers despite the obstacles they may face, encouraging them to maintain their focus and dedication in serving the citizens and visitors to Samoa.
He expressed gratitude to the families and friends of the recipients for their steadfast support throughout the officers’ journeys.
Turning to the newly promoted officers, Auapaau urged them to embrace their new ranks with integrity and a renewed sense of purpose.
“We hold a position of trust in our communities, and that trust is grounded in our commitment to serve with honesty and integrity,” he said.
He reminded them of their initial oath to serve, protect, and uphold the law, encouraging them to let their leadership inspire others and their compassion guide their actions. “You are the future leaders of this organisation,” Auapaau affirmed.
Despite facing unprecedented scrutiny on social media, the Commissioner urged the officers to remain steadfast in their duties and not be deterred by unfounded criticisms.
Instead, he encouraged them to focus on the important work ahead, particularly as they prepare to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, one of the largest events in Samoa’s history.
