Between the Lines

MEDICINE

It could be really problematic in the days to come. Pacific big brothers have signaled medicine shortage in hospitals because of the Iran conflict. Now, that would be a real worry for Samoa or are people used to it?

NOT WORKING

The CT Scan machine at the hospital was down for five weeks. It was said that repairs had begun and it may be operational now. Or it still could be out of order?

EXPIRED

Check before buying. A major supermarket was handing out free products as part of a bonus purchase deal. The catch was that the free products had expired.

MINORS

Some shops continue to be guilty of selling loose cigarettes, especially to minors. One particular shop does not sell it over the counter but the purchase has to be made from its office.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY

The three-day celebrations for the independence may be done on days that are not public holidays. No announcement has been made yet.

DOUBLE

The Easter weekend is around the corner. There will be some who will be working. Check the employment laws; if you are unaware, working on a public holiday entitles employees to double time.
