Between the Lines

CUSTOMS

Customs officials at the airport were unimpressed with the police. The boys in blue had escorted heads of delegation out to their accommodation while their passports were left with their secretaries.

STORMED OUT

Who was the delegate that stormed out of his room from a hotel? The delegate was unimpressed by his accommodation as the smell of the freshly painted walls was overpowering.

BUTTS

A senior cabinet minister was spotted throwing a cigarette butt out of the official government vehicle on the way to the airport. Keep Samoa clean.

CHILDREN’S EVENTS

A senior judge has rightfully pointed out that CHOGM has been hijacked with other issues and there was less focus on children. There was only one side event dealing with children’s rights.

DOGS

Good to see delegates choosing to walk in the afternoon and explore Samoa. Dog owners need to keep their dogs tied and inside their fences. We do not need dogs attacking delegates.

GOOD EXAMPLE

All villages should follow the example of Lepea. The untitled men can be seen patrolling and providing security around the village every night. This also prevents children roaming the streets at night.
