THE MENU

There will be no pork or beef in all CHOGM menus. It is to cater for the religious beliefs of participating delegates. The Muslim members do not eat pork and Hindus do not partake in beef.

PRICE WATCH

Good to see the CHOGM catering committee reminding suppliers to stock up on supplies for the big event. Hopefully, this does not drive up food prices for locals in October.

ANOTHER CHANCE

A shortlisted candidate for a top job in one of the new ministries is not happy. He claims technological interruptions cost him the job and he wants another go. The incumbent for this position has been announced.

SPEEDING

There is something that needs to be done about supped-up cars that are speeding along residential areas. The best way is to introduce speed cameras.

BUS SERVICE

Bus companies need to start considering extending their service hours to at least eight or nine at night. It would be good for business and for people finishing work late and without transportation.

JOB SCAM

Please beware of online scams offering employment in Japan. The deal is still in negotiation between the governments and nothing has been agreed upon.
