Between the Lines

FENDER BENDER

A brand-new vehicle belonging to a statutory authority has had more than a fender bender. That vehicle is assigned to the head honcho. It looks like more than $10,000 in damages.

TRIBUTE

While most nations have already sent tributes for the passing of a Pacific royal, our nation which calls itself a friend of that nation, is still yet to say something. Perhaps they are waiting for cabinet approval.

FORGOTTEN

It was rather sad to see a prominent former player and coach present at the capping ceremony yet his name was never called or acknowledged. He never thought twice when putting his body on the line.

SEATED NICELY

It seems the tent at the rugby game was almost empty. The former players who were supposed to be there chose the comfort of the seats in the pavilion.

DEPUTISE

The ministry responsible for litter laws should deputise untitled men from villages to enforce the litter law. It would give some of them a way to earn money and also keep Samoa clean.

FOOD STOCK

Food stocks need to be piled up as we get to CHOGM. It would be a shame to run short as the port is closed. People are keeping their fingers crossed that the event does not warrant a price hike from retailers.
