The nation is waiting the debate on the national budget. People want to know what tax cuts have been made to make life easier for those living on minimum wage.

PAY RISE

Some ministers have received as much as $20,000 as a salary increment. A person working on minimum wage earns only $6240 annually if working five days a week.

LANGUAGE

There is a concern among overseas university recruiters that Samoan students are not showing interest in studying overseas. They highlighted that language was the biggest barrier.

SCREENING

There has been an overwhelming application for the roles of auxiliary police officers for CHOGM. Hopefully, there is a stringent screening process.

GREAT HELP

Kudos to the executive of a sporting body who came to the rescue of a young woman at the airport. If not for the kind gentleman, the woman would have missed her flight.

REFUND

There is now word yet from the government when they will the money for CHOGM venues. Somes selected venues have started renovations at their costs with government assuring refund.
