TRAFFIC JAM

It was intense traffic in and out of town on Wednesday morning. The boys in blue were kept pretty busy. The university’s march through town was the biggest reason why some were late to school and work.

CRITICAL

A football coach is unhappy that this newspaper was critical in parts of its report about his team’s last game and mentioned injuries to players. It is what it is, facts cannot be changed and criticism leads to improvements.

SOME FANS

Some people should not go to sporting events. As witnessed a few nights ago, some fans at the football field were either too busy playing games on their phones, making live videos or taking selfies instead of watching.

TARO WOES

Money is a good motivator. Prize money by district councils for the best taro garden should be put up so planting of taro can be promoted. The competition should be for school-aged children only.

LOVE NESTS

Many lovebirds were left disappointed on Valentine’s Day as the Friendship Park is still closed and most of the regular love-nests were booked out. The rainy weather did not help some as well.

SACRIFICES

Quite many pubs were full on Tuesday night. Most of the patrons were Catholics who gave up alcohol from Ash Wednesday onwards. The ones who gave up meat lined up at the ‘golden’ M.
