Between the Lines

OPPORTUNITY

The lack of ships in the Cook Islands is turning into good business for operators in Samoa. A Samoan ferry was hired in December for more than half a million tala to take people from Rarotonga to Pukapuka.

LAST MINUTE

There are some things which cannot be changed about our people. We love to do things last minute. For how long have parents known schools open next week? The huge crowd outside a shop selling uniforms said otherwise.

DRAGGED ALONG

It was also noticed that toddlers and infants were dragged along to the last-minute shopping spree. A full shop and long queue is not the ideal place where toddlers should be.

WARRIORS

A technical glitch awoke a whole lot of keyboard warriors on Friday evening. Straight after Moemoana’s performance at the Pacific pageant, the glitch started and so did the horrid comments.

PARENTING TECHNOLOGY

Parents it is time to limit your children’s time on mobile phones and laptops if it is not for studies. The review of the Year 10 exam results is very disheartening.

HEED WARNING

Just a reminder for all to be careful as a severe weather warning is in place. There have been too many incidents of boats and men going missing at sea. Wait for the weather to clear.
