Public thank Court, welcome Parliament sitting
Vaifale Tui, 62, Leauvaa
“ First is to give thanks to our father almighty, God’s power is greater than anyone else. I have members at HRPP but that doesn’t stop me from siding with the truth, I am so grateful for the Supreme Court’s order to convene Parliament within seven days. It took long for the Parliament to convene and I guess it all comes to an end now. I support and give thanks to the Chief Justice and also for God’s guidance for the great decision. I am just happy that Parliament will convene soon it is also time for HRPP to step down and let the FAST party take over.”
Lesa Sanele, 63, Malie
“The order given by Supreme Court which is to convene the parliament within seven days is what it should be done. We don’t have time to wait anymore but to push through with the order, God gave us the chance to convene Parliament but there were still obstacles in the way. I don’t understand why it’s taking long but I believe that FAST party are humble enough to wait and didn't want trouble. The General Election 2021 was just something else, it took more than a month in order for Parliament to convene. I am happy with the Supreme Court’s order, Samoa does need a Parliament.”
Tagaloa Runi Masame, 48, Vaitele Fou
"The order given by Supreme Court is just excellent, our Parliament should have convene early but due to it being dragged on for months. I don’t know why it took long when the polls clearly showed that FAST members won with 26 and HRPP lost with 24. The caretaker Prime Minister always talks about the law and he understands it better but he is not following the rule of law. The caretaker PM must follow the order given by the Chief Justice in Supreme Court to convene Parliament within seven days. We all want a Parliament for our country and good leaders for our future and everyone should follow the order by Supreme Court.”
Leota Manu, 65, Leufisa
“The Supreme Court’s order for the Parliament to convene within seven days is supported. The order also comes with criteria that if anyone does not obey the Supreme Court’s order, they will be put behind bars which is great. Still if HRPP does not abide by rules, FAST should still push through with the convening of Parliament. We are half way through the year and there’s still no official Parliament for Samoa, no one will forever stay high as a mountain. God sees within each person’s heart and can tell. But I am happy the Parliament will convene soon. Hope everything will fall perfectly into place."
Malaeulu Silao, 52, Lano Savai'i
“Thanks God for his love and guidance for our country Samoa and it’s people as we strive for a new Parliament. Samoa has been searching for it’s Parliament for more than a month and thanks to the Chief Justice and everyone who contributed to the Supreme Court's order to convene Parliament within seven days. It is a great step for Samoa and 2022 is not far away but our country still does not have an official Parliament.”
Puipui Tavita, 65, Vaimoso
“I am grateful that political conflict between parties is now coming to an end now and the new Parliament will convene soon. Our nation Samoa needs to have a Parliament and thanks to the Chief Justice’s Supreme Court order that the convening of the Parliament is going to happen soon.”
