Street Talk: What is your New Year’s resolution?

The year is coming to an end, and the people of Samoa have shared their thoughts on New Year’s resolutions. From teenagers and young adults to middle-aged adults, many have set new goals, while others plan to continue their usual routines as they head into 2026.

"I aim to develop my business and grow it to better support my family."




Anu Fuatia, 53

“I want my business to grow and my sales to increase to better support my family. I plan to move to the new Savalalo Market to sell there."




Christina Peteru, 23 

“I aim to build a better future for my family”




Jay Mulipola, 30

“I do not have a New Year’s resolution, but I will continue working hard to support my family. Work is important, so I intend to focus on it fully.”




Ashton Papali’i, 20 

"I have not yet considered a New Year’s resolution, but I intend to continue in my usual role as a shopkeeper."





Mel Leota, 22 

“I do not have any New Year’s resolutions for the coming year, but I plan to maintain my usual routine."

Enoka Elia, 20

"In my line of work, I want to gain more experience and improve my skills so I can become a better salesperson and sell more phones."

"My New Year’s resolution is to be more organised, to meet assignment deadlines and dedicate more time to studying."





Leaso Tafea, 16

“I am a student at Pesega College, and my goal for next year is to graduate in my senior year."




Zayden, 22

"My goal is to go to the gym regularly and grow closer to God."
