Digicel Samoa teams up with Ria Money Transfer

Digicel Samoa announced a collaboration with Ria Money Transfer (Ria), a global leader in the cross-border money transfer industry and business segment of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT), to introduce a convenient and secure way to send money into the MyCash mobile wallet, with the option for cash pickup at selected Digicel Samoa retail stores.

Ria's extensive global network, which includes over 635,000 locations worldwide – including Australia, New Zealand and the United States – and digital connections to 4.1 billion bank accounts, 3.4 billion digital wallet accounts and four billion Visa debit cards through Visa Direct payments, now allows senders to transfer money directly to a MyCash mobile wallet in Samoa.

This service provides an alternative to traditional cash pickup, as funds are immediately accessible on the customer's phone. For recipients who still prefer cash, there is still the option to collect money from participating Digicel Samoa retail stores.

As part of the initial launch, the services will be available at three Digicel Samoa retail locations: SNPF Plaza, Faleolo International Airport, and Salelologa in Savai’i, with additional locations expected to roll out soon.

Ria’s service responds to the growing demand for quick, safe, and easy digital payment options. This simplifies remittance for customers, allowing recipients to receive their money on their mobile phones for bill payments, purchases, or savings.

Digicel Samoa’s CEO, Karl Vizvary said, “Our collaboration with Ria makes it easier and more convenient for families and friends overseas to send money to people in Samoa. By enabling transfers to the MyCash mobile wallet, as well as cash pickup at Digicel Samoa’s retail locations, we are providing our customers with more flexibility, security, and access to modern financial services.”

Ria Regional Director Business Development, Steve Peregrino, said; “Our collaboration with Digicel Samoa is another important step in our mission to provide accessible and efficient money transfer services globally. By enabling deposits into a MyCash mobile wallet, we are helping empower recipients in Samoa with easy access to funds while strengthening financial connectivity between Samoa and the rest of the world.”

The launch of this service reinforces Ria’s leadership in cross-border money transfers while highlighting Digicel Samoa’s commitment to advancing mobile financial services. Both companies are committed to improving financial inclusion by providing secure and convenient payment solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers.
