Comptech in partnership with tech giant Uniview

Local firm Comptech Limited has gone into partnership with a leading global manufacturer and provider of IP video surveillance devices and solutions including CCTV products.

The new partnership between Comptech Limited and Chinese video surveillance manufacturer Uniview (UNV) will enable the training and upskilling of their staff in order to further enhance the IP surveillance technology provided by the company for clients in Samoa.

UNV is one of the leading manufacturers of IP surveillance and is ranked fourth in the global market of video surveillance products for 2020 and third in China. 

The global company recently deployed two of their staff to Samoa to introduce the new product into the country.


Renado Chente, who is in charge of the program and has also worked in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Europe and Mexico, said they are looking forward to building the reputation of their brand and product in countries like Samoa.

"We are looking to build the brand reputation together and for countries like Samoa we prefer to work in an exclusive partnership and with that we can provide full support to our partner Comptech,” he said. 

UNV clientele focus covers multiple industries such as, transportation, industrial park, commercial, bank, residential, school and healthcare all around the world.

Fred Schmidt, who is in charge of the sales and marketing at Comptech Limited, expressed his gratitude for the visit as well as the partnership.

"First off we are happy to have the team from UNV come visit us and I'm sure this will be the first of many visits to our shore,” he said. 


"UNV is available in 125 countries now, including Samoa. It is one of the fastest growing CCTV companies in the world and we are proud to be partners with them as exclusive partners.

“The UNV team are here upskilling the Comptech tech team on capabilities of their systems."

With Samoa's market considered a greenfield for the global company, the team from UNV are also visiting as part of a fact finding mission.

"They have come here to Samoa not only to offer support and training for our staff, but are also on a fact finding mission to see exactly what Samoan Customers are looking for in their products,” Mr. Schmidt said. 

“Now we have taken them around with us on jobs and site visits and they see a lot of potential for Samoa to move to the next level in technology for CCTV and security access systems.
