New Zealand’s Otago University has continued its tradition of donating textbooks to the National University of Samoa’s Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship.

The NUS held a brief ceremony at the Taputoi building on campus on Thursday for the donation to be made to the faculty.

This is the third time Otago University has made a similar donation of books to the N.U.S. 

The first donation was made in October 2018 with another 100 books getting presented in April last year. But this year the donation was a combined effort of Otago University’s Business School and the Auckland University of Technology.

The New Zealand High Commission’s Health Adviser, Faumuina Dr Faafetai Sopoaga, officiated at the donation of the textbooks boxes to the N.U.S. Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, Dr Rafia Naz.

Dr Naz, who spoke on behalf of the university administration, acknowledged the donation from both universities and thanked them for their generosity. 

"The textbook is a reminder of the special relationship and spirit of cooperation between NZ Universities and the National University of Samoa," said Dr Sopoaga.

Dr Naz thanked the N.Z. High Commission, Dr Sopoaga, the Universities of Otago and the Auckland University of Technology for their assistance in building the learning capabilities of students in business and tourism studies at the N.U.S.
