A man pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and two of theft before the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Mareko Tausagafou, dressed in a shirt and shorts, appeared unrepresented before Justice Donald Kerslake.

He had been remanded from the time of his arrest. He told the court that he was choosing to plead guilty to all the charges.

Prosecutor Raewyn Fong told the court that in January this year, Tausagafou broke into MK Mart in Faatoia and stole $1700 worth of items.

He later broke into the Samoa Commercial Bank but failed to steal anything. He later broke into Secil Supermarket in Vaivase and stole $7,900 worth of items.

Fong told the court that Tausagafou had previous convictions of a similar nature, and there were other pending matters before the court.

Justice Kerslake told the accused that he would be remanded in custody as he pleaded guilty.

The court set 11 June for sentence submissions and to await a report from the probation office to determine Tausagafou’s sentence.
