A significant pinch will be felt in the pockets when filling up at the fuel pumps, with fuel prices going up as much as $1.41 per litre as the new prices come into effect.

Diesel costs $4.50 per litre from $3.09 per litre, petrol is now $3.51 per litre from $2.85 per litre and kerosene now costs $4.05 per litre from $2.70 per litre.

The prices have come into effect from 1 May. The increment has been attributed to the conflict in Iran impcting the shipment of fuel out of the Strait of Hormuz.
