Prime Minister La'aulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt announced that the cabinet has approved the appointment of new chairpersons and board of directors for government ministries and State-Owned Enterprises.

The new appointments include:

Tagaloa Eddie Wilson- Chairman for the National Provident Fund 

Lavea Tupa’imatuna- Chairperson for the Development Bank of Samoa

Papalii Siaosi Hansell- Chairman for the Gambling Control Authority

Theresa Tagiilima _Development Bank of Samoa Director 

Tiatia Tauloa Fiaga- Development Bank of Samoa Director

Amituana’i Kenrick- Gambling Control Authority Director

Papalii Steven Leota- Electric Power Corporation Director

Maulolo Fata Ueligitone Malifa - Accident Compensation Corporation Director

Leilua Tutogi Mailei - Samoa Housing Corporation Director

Lealali Mulitalo- Director Samoa National Kidney Foundation

Sa’u Gafa Salesa Fetu-Director Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa

Tupuola Savave Sapolu- Director Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa

Fa’aolatane Iona Pao- Director Samoa Shipping Corporation

Tagaloa Tupou Afa- Director Samoa Shipping Services

Robert Michael Rankin- Director Samoa Tourism Authority

Papalii Willie Nansen- Director Samoa Ports Authority/ Pacific Forum Line

The Prime Minister said 35 other appointments need to be confirmed and the cabinet is awaiting the Ministry of Public Enterprises on the lists of directors needed.

The cabinet will announce three new Chief Executive Officers next week. These include the top post at the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), the Samoa Qualifications Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF).
