Two more police officers are now under investigation for allegedly leaking drug raid information to suspects.

This was confirmed by the Prime Minister La'aulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt during a recent press conference.

La'aulialemalietoa said the numbers of some of the drug suspects were found in these two police officers' mobile phones.

"Investigations have just started, and the two police officers are on suspension to await the outcome of the investigations," the PM said.

The Prime Minister was asked about the investigations of the other two senior police officers, who include the former Prime Minister's bodyguard, and he said it has not been completed.

He said the special investigations on the first two senior officers of the ministry are still ongoing and will be completed later this month.

La'aulialemalietoa said all police officers who are suspected of leaking information about drug raids will be automatically suspended, and investigations will be conducted.

"This is just not accepted because it's the lives of the police that are on the line if this continues," PM said.

Mugshots of the latest drug suspects have not been published by the Ministry of Police, just like they stated in a press release late last year.

Mugshots of more than 100 drug suspects were published.

Attempts to get a comment from the Acting Police Commissioner Leiataua Samuelu Afamasaga were unsuccessful.
