FAST's Tunumafono Clare in close Safata No.1 by-election win

Tunumafono Clare Tai Tin of the Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) party has won the Safata No. 1 by-election in a closely contested affair.
According to the official count on Friday, she had 555 votes. Fellow FAST candidate Tafafunai Saolotoga Fuimaono Mimio had 553 votes, Tafafunai Aialii Anapu had 364 votes, Tuigamala Vaisilika Tuigamala had 118 votes, while the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) candidate, Luailepou Tikilapilesa Misi, received 266 votes.
