A disturbing video of an ex-student of Avele College bullying and assaulting a student in the school compound has been referred to the police for investigation.

The apology was issued on social media by the Principal of Avele College and also the administration, about the violent video that went viral on social media. The young student was ruthlessly beaten up by an ex-pupil of Avele.

The statement of apology was issued in Samoan and highlighted that the bully was educated at Avele and did not graduate.

"This one ex-pupil has put a bad reputation on the school and we would like to apologise for his actions," the apology said.

"We are wrong, we are at fault, forgive us for the incident that has happened, especially to the family of the student who was bullied."

The apology said the school had referred the matter to the police for investigation, and hopefully it will teach this bully a lesson.

The video shows the ex-pupil beating up the current student by slapping him many times on the face while others record it.

This is one of the many videos of bullying, violence and fighting among school students in the past weeks.

Avele College in its apology said the person responsible for the ugly incident had put a very bad name to the school. The school apologised in Samoan "Ua 'ou to'ese, ua 'ou tovale."

The Ministry of Education and Culture has been establishing a strict policy of not tolerating bullying and violence in all schools.
