Agafili gets fourth term as PM's CEO

The cabinet has officially reappointed Agafili Tomaimanō Shem Leo as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (MPMC) and Secretary to Cabinet, affirming his ongoing leadership in one of the country’s most vital government departments.
His re-appointment to the position marks his fourth term as the CEO.
Agafili, who first assumed the position in late 2015 and began his tenure in 2016, will continue to lead MPMC.
With 18 years of experience in public service, Agafili has been with the Ministry since 2001. He started his career as a teacher at Samoa College before transitioning into government service.
In 2007, he advanced to the position of Principal Policy Analyst at the MPMC, a role that set the stage for his eventual appointment as CEO.
Throughout his career, Agafili has demonstrated a commitment to governance and public service, exemplified by his academic achievements. He holds a Master of Arts in Governance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies, and a Bachelor of Education in Geography.
Agafili is an alumnus of both Samoa College and the University of the South Pacific in Suva, and he has continued to build on his extensive educational background throughout his career.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Agafili is deeply involved in his community. He serves as an Assistant Pastor and Bible teacher at the Laloanea Bible Fellowship, reflecting his commitment to public service and the church.
Agafili is married, a father of two, and hails from the villages of Tufulele, Amaile, Samusu, and Sala'ilua.
