Police charge Schmidt for false claims

The Samoa police charged Lise Schmidt on Thursday for allegedly making false claims that the Prime Minister was involved in the death of academic Professor Caroline Sinavaiana-Gabbard.
Schmidt is facing charges of conspiracy to defeat the course of justice and misleading the police through false information.
She has been released on bail on the condition that she surrender her travel documents, sign at the Faleata outpost every Friday and refrain from discussing the case on social media.
