Miss Global Samoa Nicolina June Ah-Kuoi says her proudest moment was representing Samoa at the international pageant. She bowed out in the top 20 but feels the experience has been transformative.

In an interview with Samoa Observer, Nicolina shared her experience of Cambodia and Thailand.

"It’s a whirlwind of emotions! I feel incredibly grateful for the entire experience, honoured to have represented Samoa on the global stage, and proud of the journey I’ve taken. There’s also a sense of nostalgia because this competition has been such a transformative chapter in my life. But more than anything, I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned and use it to continue empowering others," she said.

"The highlight of my journey has been the sisterhood we’ve built. Meeting women from all over the world, each with unique stories and powerful advocacies, was truly inspiring. Another unforgettable moment was stepping onto the Miss Global stage in my island wear, representing my culture with pride. It reminded me why I do what I do—to uplift my people and show the world the strength and beauty of Samoa."

Nicolina believes that the Miss Global platform is a voice for young girls to see their potential and what they are capable of achieving. She has high hopes that her journey will inspire the young girls of Samoa to pursue their dreams and goals in life.

"By sharing my journey—the challenges and triumphs—I hope to show them that with resilience, passion, and hard work, they can break barriers. Miss Global Samoa is more than just a title; it’s an opportunity to inspire, educate, and uplift the next generation of leaders. I advocated for women's empowerment and cancer awareness.

"Growing up in a culture that deeply values tradition, I’ve seen how important it is for women to have platforms that amplify their voices and potential. I want to encourage young women to embrace their power and step into leadership roles. Cancer awareness is also close to my heart because so many families in Samoa, myself included, have been affected by it. I believe that through education and early detection, we can save lives and support those battling this disease."

During her time in the Miss Global competition, she learnt that confidence is built through perseverance and self-belief.

"Pageantry is not just about beauty—it’s about resilience, discipline, and purpose. I’ve also learned the power of unity; the friendships I’ve made here have shown me that no matter our differences, we can come together to create change. Lastly, I’ve learned that my voice matters, and I will continue to use it to uplift others," she said.

"This journey has been life-changing, and I am beyond thankful for the people who have supported me along the way. Viia le Alii i mea uma. If it weren’t for Him, I wouldn’t be where I am now. To my beautiful Samoa, this is just the beginning. I will continue to serve, inspire, and represent you with pride."

Miss Global Samoa will arrive in Samoa on 14 March.
