Five men arrested and charged after a drug raid at Tulaele last November appeared in the Supreme Court on Monday while an arrest warrant was issued for the sixth accused who failed to show up to court.

Taamilo Faioso Su'a, Lemalu Rudy, Brian Vaifale, Seugalii Levao and Tagaloa Maugaloto Palu appeared before Judge Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma..

Lemalu was represented by Leiataualesa Jerry Brunt, Tuisa Tasi Patea represented Seugalii and Iuni Sapolu represented Tagaloa.

Taamilo appeared unrepresented in court and requested a chance to seek legal counsel.

Tulitau Sopo Rudy did not appear and a warrant of arrest was issued by Justice Fepuleai. Upon his arrest, Tulitau will be remanded in custody until 17 February.

Fepuleai adjourned this matter without a plea for the police to finalise charges against the defendants and also for the counsels to request bail for their clients.

Defendant Taamilo was also told to submit a written application for bail to court before the next mentioned date.

According to the police during the time of the raid, the accused had prior convictions related to drug offences.

The police raids at Tulaele and Lepea were conducted at separate mechanical workshops not very far from each other.
