Customs seize 10kg of crystal meth
The Ministry of Customs and Revenue has confirmed the seizure of approximately 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine this evening (Wednesday).
The discovery was made following a series of targeted profiling operations, with the substance confirmed through NIK testing and further analysis set to follow.
Customs officials, in a statement released to the Samoa Observer, revealed that the drugs were detected using the Ministry's container X-ray scanner, alongside support from the joint Customs and Police K9 Unit.
Authorities are currently conducting further investigations at a local shop in Pesega, with police on-site.
