Tilomai Michelle Williams had the dedication to succeed and a lack of further education did not hinder her from achieving her dreams.

On Saturday night, the well-known hair stylist and make-up artist marked the first anniversary of her business Tilomai's Hair Salon and Beautyin Aai o Niue.

Her mother, Sausi Logotaeao Talotaina said her daughter did not graduate from university but has proven to them that despite not having any qualifications, it will not be a barrier for her and her success.

According to Logotaeao, Michelle is different from her seven siblings. However, she is very grateful and blessed that her daughter is surrounded by great people.

"I remember last year on this year, we were all here as well for the opening of my daughter's business. I am humbled to speak on behalf of my husband and our family to say thank you all for coming. Who is Chelle for you all to come here and celebrate this moment for her? From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you," she said.

"She's never achieved any high qualifications to secure her future, but thank God for Michelle's perseverance in pushing herself to her limits and using her God-given talent. Secondly, we extend our gratitude towards her close friends from different walks of life, you have helped so much in Chelle's business development."

In an interview with Michelle she said that she has been doing make-up and hair since 2012. She has worked with so many former Miss Samoas, Miss Global Samoa, and the current Miss Universe Samoa.

"After Miss Samoa last year I decided to move my salon here at my house. Since all of my clients know my place, that's why I moved here because there is no rent and more profit for me," she said.

"Since when I was a little girl, I always love doing hair and make-up. Even though I went to Pesega for College, I always wear make-up when I go to school, so that's why I decided to pursue it. I have a lot of experience in doing this now. I am self-taught so I never really attended any schools for these."

Michelle has been working behind the scenes as a hair stylist and make-up artist in previous pageants. One of the people that she worked on and she has been treating as her baby is the former Miss Samoa, Miss Global, and current Miss Samoa Universe, Miss Haylani Pearl Kuruppu.
