New investment targets tourism
A billion-dollar New Zealand organisation called Stonewood Key Company has made claims that they are on a mission to introduce strategic plans to boost the economic growth of the tourism industry in the country.
The company has promised employment opportunities for the people of Samoa. While the exact nature of the investment in Samoa was not disclosed, it is believed that it would do with property and hotel development.
The Stonewood Key Company has partnered with a local business called Vision Investment and set up New Vision International Limited, to execute the projects that are set to start in two to three months from now.
According to a media release, the core aspect of their partnership with Samoa and the generous givers is to manufacture developments of tourism and to give back to its people and the Samoan community.
"By working together to bring about positive change, the collaboration aims to develop job opportunities and support various industries that are committed to advancing Samoa's future," the company said.
Established in 1994, Stonewood Group is a property management company that oversees about NZ$1 billion in real estate and infrastructure holdings in New Zealand which was founded by John Chow and his brother Michael Chow.
According to information found on the internet, the Chow Brothers are almost entirely in the property game – financing, developing and building.
At the end of 2019 on Linkedin – where he gives himself the epithet “unstoppable entrepreneur” – John wrote, “we now truly have created an unstoppable machine”, before listing some of the brothers’ achievements, including hotels in Wellington and Hamilton, the purchase of an online magazine based in Hong Kong, and further growth for Stonewood Homes.
The company's work for more than two decades includes cutting-edge design, technology, and sustainability, dedicated to boosting city energy and providing experiences which, according to their endeavours Samoa is soon to be a part of.
"When Vision Investment Co Ltd explored for new investors eager to participate in Samoa's potential, New Vision International Limited was established," stated the media release.
Max Key who is the Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) in the representation of the company met up with Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa on Tuesday 13 March 2024 to discuss the implementation of its project development
Sir John Key, who is the former and 38th prime minister of New Zealand from 2008-2016, is the chairman of the Stonewood Group together with the Chow brothers and his son Max Key. They have happily announced the founding mission of New Vision International Limited to promote livelihoods, create jobs, and aid in Samoan economic growth.
As part of its commitment to advancing the current, progressive change in Samoa's economic environment, New Vision International Limited works with partners to carry out strategic projects that foster environmental sustainability and economic prosperity.
Additionally, it supports the Samoan community by creating job opportunities, promoting labour mobility and training, to maintain the livelihoods of its people.
