Kolisi alumni continue to help
The Samoa College Class of 1997-2000 were excited to give back to their alma mater Samoa College, in the form of a cheque for SAT$5,000 that was presented to the school through SCOPA (Samoa College Old Pupils Association).
These alumni, locally and globally, understand the significance of supporting the educational institution that laid the foundation for their success, and their contribution reflects the enduring impact of the values instilled in them during their formative years at Samoa College, both personally and professionally.
The Class of '97-'00 recognised the importance of fostering a sense of community and gratitude and they continue to actively meet regularly.
Overseas members world over, did not hesitate to commit and maintain their connection with Samoa College through their local chapter. The local members themselves were deeply rooted in the community and continue to play a pivotal role in this philanthropic initiative, providing an enduring link between their classmates and the college.
What was evident at their class discussion, was a desire to celebrate the 70th-year milestone of Samoa College tangibly, by collectively donating funds towards the upkeep and continued improvement of the College.
The heartfelt gesture was a testament to the lasting bonds formed during their time at the school.
An active member of this group, the Head Girl for the Class 2000 Aurora Elisaia Vaai said this donation will be directed towards projects aimed at improving the overall learning environment, providing resources, and supporting various educational programs at Samoa College.
“This act of generosity underscores the enduring spirit of the Samoa College community and its alumni to ensure that future generations benefit from the same quality education they received,” she said,
The Class of ’97-00 previously participated in the 50th, 60th, and now the 70th birthday celebrations and continue to contribute to the school, via projects, and funds by tutoring and mentoring current students.
As the Class of 2000 prepares to commemorate their 25th Anniversary in 2025, marking 25 years since leaving the college, they promised to keep giving to the school and all those educators that engrained in them the motto “Atamai e Tautua mo Samoa”.
The Class of '97-'00 encourages other alumni, both near and far, to join in this spirit of giving back. Whether little or much, the unified act of coming together creates opportunities to make a positive impact on the College and contribute to the ongoing success of its students.
