Donations add value to SVSG facility

Partnerships developed over 18 years have led to the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) being the recent recipient of equipment, a trailer as well and multiple donations.

A container that was loaded with equipment, a trailer and various donations will add value to the non-profit organisation's Campus of Hope shelter facility for abused children. The donation confirmed the extensive network of supporters that the local organizations have developed with the SVSG over its 18 years of service, according to a press release issued late Sunday night.

Through its partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Charities, Pacific Assist and Community Connect, the humanitarian organisation became the recipient of a washing machine, a stove, a television, weed killers and many other essentials to ensure that the shelter remains fully equipped to cater for the children’s daily caring.

A trailer with sporting equipment has the Campus of Hope logo printed on it and will facilitate the transportation of the children’s sporting equipment during their outing activities. With the Campus of Hope being the only care centre available in Samoa for abused children and women, the SVSG acknowledged the love and support from the communities here and abroad towards its sustainability.

The SVSG President, Siliniu Lina Chang expressed her appreciation for the donation of the various items from their multiple partner or donor organisations.

“Thank you to the Chair and the Directors of Pacific Assist New Zealand, through Callum Blair, for inspiring self-reliance in the partnership with SVSG," said Siliniu. Your sincerity towards helping SVSG support the Children of Hope has encouraged us with our work.

"Thank you also to Community Connect New Zealand for your assistance in coordinating this donation for the Campus.”
