Vaiola students support Campus of Hope
In a show of support, school children from Vaiola Primary School paid a visit to the Campus of Hope, assuring young victims that they are not alone.
It was pure faith and love demonstrated through the presents and food gifted by the students of Vaiola to the young survivors of violence.
According to a Vaiola Primary School official, the donation is what will establish good relations between the youngsters and teach them the concepts of unity, togetherness, and oneness.
He said it is believed that the work the children do for other children is a powerful way to relay a message of life and a form of encouragement to the hopeless.
“As a church, and school, we are so excited to see the children coming with their pure hearts and put together these valuable assets to give to the shelter residents," said the school official.
"I’m sure, they will grow up with principles and values that will guide them to inspire the whole world. To close the school semester on a positive note, the school launched the 'mini mission'."
The project was successful with donations including toiletries, clothing detergent, food items, and more. In addition to the donations, the students also performed a dance to support the cause.
In a media release issued by SVSG its branch at Tuasivi Savaii received the donation with gratitude and expressed appreciation for the support of Vaiola Primary School.
The S.V.S.G. President Siliniu Lina Chang expressed her gratitude to the primary school on behalf of her non-profit organisation.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation from Vaiola Primary School. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Principal of Vaiola Primary School, Camilla Stevenson, and teachers for their efforts to support the Campus of Hope," she said.
“Thank you also to the parents of the students, whose support and contributions were instrumental in making this donation possible. Most importantly, I acknowledge the sincerity of the initiative by the students.
"Seeing you all dance with excitement while presenting and loading the donations onto the vehicles encourages us with our work."
Touched by the gesture of the visiting students, Siliniu described the primary school students' donation as "a testament of God's love in abundance".
"Despite the current economic challenges, the support by this primary school is a testament of God’s love in abundance for us all and it is a form of embracing equity as children give to the abused children and the ones with a disability. Through this connection, Samoa will be a better place with future leaders."
