Turtle slaughter concern
A Laumei or Green Turtle, most common turtle found in Samoan waters, although only the Hawksbill turtle actually breeds here. This one probably comes from rose Atoll in American Samoa where there is a large protected breeding colony.

Despite most Pacific nations banning the slaughter of turtles, Samoa still allows for it and it was reminded through a video shared recently on social media raising eyebrows on whether or not Samoa has taken the conservation of turtles seriously.
