Tofiga at his best again

It was a full house at Taumeasina Island Resort on Friday evening as Samoa’s funny man, Tofiga Fepulea’i put on a show for his ‘685’ fans in Samoa.

His last show was back in 2019 called ‘Sorry about it’ and this year’s show ‘Laughing in the 685’ was a treat for the locals in the first week of the New Year.

The show was an excellent way to enter the weekend, prior to Samoa's public servants return to work on Monday. To be back on stage again in his motherland made this trip back extra special for the comedian.

He had the room laughing with some of his classic jokes and even treated the audience to a few Toa Samoa jokes.

“The biggest winners of last year’s world cup were the $2 dollar shops in New Zealand,” he told the audience. “They were the biggest winners selling their flags and using other flags to make the Samoan flag.”

This had the room burst out in laughter at how relevant his joke was, indicating how the shops earned so much from the Toa Samoa celebrations that engulfed the nation in October and November last year and culminated with their homecoming visit after Christmas.

Tofiga talked about how he felt about the solidarity Samoa showed in backing the Toa Samoa boys, outlining the success the country has had in the Commonwealth Games, and to top it off with the Manu Sevens team winning the HSBC Rugby Sevens Series cup in Cape Town, South Africa.

The show on Friday evening was a great success which left everyone leaving with a few jokes to tell at the dinner table and happy that they were able to see the Laughing Samoans funny man.

Local company Taula Beverages was the official beverage sponsor of the Tofiga Show at the Taumeasina Island Resort last Friday evening.
