Tuilaepa and Leala replaced

The Legislative Assembly has passed a motion to replace two suspended Human Rights Protection Party (H.R.P.P.) Members who sit on a parliamentary committee with their party colleagues.
The motion was moved by the Deputy Speaker, Mulipola Aloitafua Mulipola this week when the parliament reconvened for its last sitting of the year.
The H.R.P.P. leader and veteran Member of Parliament for Lepa, Tuilaepa Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi as well as the party secretary and M.P. for Faleata No. 3 Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi are suspended for two years.
Mulipola said in accordance with the Standing Order the named M.P.s have been recommended by the Parliamentary Commission to be chosen to a parliamentary committee approved by the House.
In the Finance and Economic Committee, three H.R.P.P. members have been chosen to replace the suspended representatives and former M.P. Tapunuu Niko Lee Hang who passed away recently.
The M.P. Aiono Gafa Tile has been chosen to replace Tuilaepa, Alai’asa Sepulona Moananu will replace Lealailepule, and Faagasealii Sapoa Feagiai will take over from the late Tapunuu.
The three H.R.P.P. members replacing their colleagues will make up the total of nine members per committee.
On the Standing Orders, Electoral Petitions and Constitutional Offices Committee, the Associate Minister of Health, Tea Peato Toala has resigned and will be replaced by Foisala Tuu Ioane. The motion was seconded by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, La’auli Leuatea Schmidt.
A total of 35 Parliamentary Committee Reports were tabled in the House this week that comprised three reports from the Social Sector Committee and eight from the Economic Sector Committee.
